Governor Kasich announced Ohio’s new autism policies in December 2012. In addition to adding autism benefits to state employee health insurance, Ohio is also including autism benefits in the Essential Health Benefit (EHB) Benchmark Plan. As part of the requirements of the Affordable Care Act, each state has in place an benchmark plan that includes coverage for required EHB services.
